Alone
Alone with You
Captive in the garden
Set free from life
And painful strife
Peacefully I rest
At first it was too quiet
I didn’t see Your face
I sought the noise
And worldly toys
Not what You said was best
Then I embraced the silence
And waited for You there
It wasn’t long
I heard Your song
Returning to the nest
I am Yours
A budding rose
A tender leaf
A vibrant sky with prism bows
We cuddle like cold eskimos
Or dance as joyful navajos
I’m wading in the undertows
of Your love
