WAITING TO SAIL THE SEAS

AT THE DOCK

The empty room and quiet ticking clock
Too slow, the passing time, like water drips
No pleasure left in waiting at the dock
A wanting vessel, longing drives this ship

But time in waiting works to bend a soul
Refining true intentions of the heart
No better place to purge, it is a start
When God prepares, He wants to make us whole

There is no venturing in windless sail
The wait is on the One who blows the breeze
And in His safety we can roam the seas
His timing guarantees I will prevail

So trusting Him has taught my soul its peace
I know that soon I’ll hear His sweet release
