PATHS

Road in the Forest

Your will for me is perfect

The path you choose

Golden avenues

With heavens breakthroughs

Also known as the narrow way

Though few venture this trail

If only we’d listen and stay

Instead of taking

The subway, railway

Or alleyway

Thinking we would get there

Faster

But instead embrace

Disaster

Following another

Master

Not listening to our

Pastor

Or the Book, the map to guide

With instructions You provide

We lay it aside

Feeling justified to follow our pride

Or to fill up our needs

On the path misidentified

Taking us out of Your will

Completely

Though its trimmed

So neatly

The stubborn foundation

Concretely

Leads us astray

May my prayer be plain

Help me remain

On the path

You ordain

Ignoring the ones

Meant to entertain

Or lead me to

The enemy’s domain

Simple

Help me remain

Draw me to the place of your grace

Where You reign
