The drop of dew
Waited for the sun
To kiss
And make her shine
But night was cold
And darkness held

She waited

The dawn grew bright
And brought earth’s colors
Back to life

She waited

On the horizon
The sun’s first tip
Burst from the ground
And completely vanquished darkness

One ray of light
Landed on the dew
And made her glisten
As a faceted, precious jewel
She beamed with
Proud delight

It was as though
She was made for this moment
To sparkle and reflect
The Sun’s rays

That day is as
Earth’s finite span
And I live
Only a drop in time

Oh let me shine
My moment bright and true
And spend my time
Reflecting only You
